Grant Writing and Strategy
Dani Heinemeyer has over ten years of professional grant writing and strategic planning experience for nonprofits across the country. Her current clients include the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, Friends of Balboa Park, and Skylight Engagement, among others. She has also consulted for Sundance Institute and Royal Family Productions. Before moving into consultancy, Dani worked as a grant manager for Brooklyn Academy of Music and the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
She was instrumental in raising leadership support for the following projects:
- Lost in Balboa Park, a digital strategy and visitor engagement initiative that aims to connect Balboa Park’s collections to audiences (BPOC)
- Museum at Your Fingertips, a new learning tool that brings the San Diego Air & Space Museum directly to the classroom (BPOC)
- DanceMotion USA, an international tour of American dance produced in partnership with the U.S. Department of State (BAM)

Dani has written web content and conducted SEO for Balboa Park Online Collaborative and Ignite Visibility in San Diego and Tamara Olson Designs in New York City. Key projects have included:
